Eight regional organizations flourish under the umbrella of the national Society for Photographic Education, each serving the special needs of its local constituency and creating a sense of community within every geographic area. When you join the national Society, you are automatically enrolled as a member of the region in which you reside. The South Central Region encompasses seven states: Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Texas.

Exhibit at Colorado History Museum examines southeast Colorado’s
beauty, isolation and the people’s bond to the land.

Denver — History Colorado presents Contested Lands: Photographs Around the Picket Wire, an exhibit featuring the work of five photographers who visited and photographed the canyons and plains of Colorado’s Purgatoire River basin—known locally as the “Picket Wire.”
